Daddy-Daughter Dance

Every year around Valentine's Day, our church does a Father-Daughter Dance.  The girls love this night.  It is a special event for all ... including me, who gets a night to myself!
 Some pre-dance pictures:
I did the girls' hair - sort of fancy:

Robby's back hurt after dancing with three foot tall dance partners for awhile, so he encouraged them to dance with each other:

Daddy-Daughter-Daughter Date Night

Every year Chick Fil A hosts Daddys and Daughters for a fun night around Valentine's Day.  This is the third year the girls have gone.  We love Chick Fil A for a lot of reasons, but this annual treat simply entrenches our loyalty to this fabulous company.

Before their date with Robby, I did their hair, which causes some pain:
Some quick pictures in front of the house:

CFA tries to make it as formal as possible, for a fast food restaurant:

 So cool:
A cow in a tuxedo!!  The girls also came home with roses.
So much fun!

Chick Fil A Daddy-Daughter-Daughter Date Night

Each year for Valentine's Day, Chick Fil A hosts a Daddy-Daughter Date night.  The girls love it.  They have a red carpet, tablecloths, fancy placemats, etc.  Last year they offered limousine rides around the strip mall.

The food is of course the same as CFA always is, but what can be better than a special night for under $15?

Valentine's Day Paper Quilts

To celebrate Valentine's Day, we did a project we have never done before. We used paper triangles to make shapes and designs that are often used for quilts:

The girls played with these triangles for about half an hour. Neither one of them could copy the designs I gave them, but this was the first time we tried this project.

We did this Monday for the first time. Catherine asked me if we could do it again on Tuesday. We didn't have time, but we certainly will. This is a great activity for spatial reasoning.

Sabrina was no where close to making an actual design, but she had fun!

Father-Daughter Dance

Every year our church, Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, hosts a Father-Daughter dance around Valentine's Day. This was the second year that Robby took Catherine. She loved getting dressed up:

Valentine's Day Gifts

I feel so late on my blogging!! Two weeks ago, on Valentine's Day, we gave the girls their Valentine's Day gifts. Catherine of course won't eat candy and Sabrina doesn't really need candy, so we did not give them chocolate. Instead, I got them gift bags of Valentine socks (and a pair of Tinkerbell socks for each) and stickers & a little book to put the stickers in. I need to start them young if they will one day become scrapbookers!

Father - Daughter Dance

Catherine had her first Valentine's Day Dance ... with Robby. Our church, Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, hosted a huge dance for fathers and daughters. Catherine and I went shopping for a Valentine's dress for her and I let her wear some of my "real" jewelry - the rhinestone bow we added to the front of the dress was actually one of my mother's brooches.

Robby & Catherine enjoyed a lovely dinner of chicken fingers, french fries and Oreo pie!

Catherine got a charm bracelet, her first piece of non-plastic jewelry.

Robby switched between holding Catherine, bending over to dance with her, or dancing on his knees. For some reason he said it was an exhausting night!
