Last week we went to Typhoon Lagoon, one of Disney's water parks. We did not take any pictures because we took tons last time we went and cameras are hard to manage in water parks. But, the park closed at 5 pm. So, we went to the Animal Kingdom Lodge for dinner. It was great!
We ate dinner at Boma, a great buffet restaurant with an African flair. They had unusual, yet yummy, foods like fufu (mashed sweet potatoes) and peanut rice. The girls were entertained by the African drummers that strolled through the restaurant while beating the very loud bongos.
Around the pool, there are two savannas containing lots of African animals:
After night fall, the staff at Animal Kingdom Lodge lets you use night vision goggles to see the animals in the savannas. It was very cool because you really could see all the plants and animals, although it was all green lighted, just like you see in the movies. None of us had ever used night vision goggles before, so this was a thrill.
The Lodge itself is also beautiful, with a huge atrium. The gift shop was great with tons of African artwork, etc. A great place to visit for dinner!
