This morning when I woke up Catherine, she asked me what we were doing today. I told her we were going to church, then lunch, then soccer. We dressed for church and packed her clothes for soccer. She has only been to soccer twice before and seemed marginally interested, but we are keeping at it so she can learn some skills, strength and balance.
Unfortunately, when we got out of church it was pouring down rain. So, I told Catherine she could not play soccer because of the rain. Part of me thought she would be happy, because I am not sure if she really likes soccer or not.
I was pleasantly surprised when Catherine said to me "I can hold an umbrella in one hand and kick the ball with my other leg." (I know that is not a completely logical statement, but I admired her creativity and problem solving.) I chuckled and said that she could not play soccer in pouring down rain. I told her we would go next week, which seemed to satisfy her.
