On this day I told the story of "Catherine's Body," which went like this: Catherine is an exciting little girl with a TON of body parts. At the very top of her body she has hair - lots and lots of strands of hair. WAY TOO MANY to count. Then, under her hair, she has a head! Inside her head is her brain. On the sides of her head are ears. TWO of them! .... (This story can take a good ten minutes to tell and is relatively easy for me to make up on the spot. I tested Catherine's listening skills by saying she has 6 fingers. Catherine stopped me and said she has ten fingers. So, we counted to determine who was right.)
Another favorite story which Catherine requests often is the "Laundry Story." We start with a dirty clothes hamper which is totally full. Then we move the hamper down the hall to the washing machine. Then we put the clothes in the washing machine. This is another ten minute story.

I think that is very creative! It helps her learn real, practical things too. How neat...I am totally going to use the ideas when my kids start asking me to make up stories.
