Museum of Aviation

A few weeks ago we went to the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, GA.  We were in the Macon area for Catherine's state pinewood derby championship, so we went to the museum afterwards.  It is a great museum, and happens to be free!

Outside there were tons of airplanes you could walk around.  We were all shocked at how low they were to the ground ... literally the girls cold touch them!
I have no idea what this has to do with airplanes, but they had a model of the Great Wall of China.  We had just finished a unit on ancient China, so the girls were thrilled to walk on a pretend Great Wall of China.
There were several planes and partial planes which the kids could climb into:
We saw a demonstration of paratroopers jumping out of a plane, which was great.  The big screen at the end of this picture became a movie screen and we saw a movie about paratroopers.
Sabrina exploring the cockpit and Catherine trying out the toilet in the middle of the room:
The Museum contains several buildings (based on different time periods) as well as lots of different planes outdoors:

A model of a gunner hanging out the back of a plane:

 A Thunderbird:
This is a great museum and I highly recommend it, especially if you are driving through.
