Port Removal and Ankle Surgery

On October 16, 2009, Catherine had surgery to fix the tendons in her ankle and remove the port through which she received her chemo. The above picture is before the surgery. She is pointing to her port, but it is hard to see it in the picture. She also still has her large, full leg, purple cast.

While we were waiting for the OR to be free, some hospital clowns came by to visit Catherine. She loves it when they visit her. They made her a rose out of a paper towel, which she is holding here, pretending to sniff it:

This last picture is the most precious of all to me. After her surgery, she had an IV in her to get fluids. She was still pretty drugged up, so she is laying down. But, she still had enough energy to ask to borrow my iPhone. She is so smart she knows how to access the YouTube function on my iPhone and watch video clips from Mickey Mouse, Sesame Street, or Barney. She told me to tell Santa to get her an iPhone for Christmas, but I told her Santa only gives out toys and iPhones are not toys.
