Last night we met Shandy and Ali - they are our Wish Coordinators and will plan and give us a Make A Wish trip in the spring. They brought her a Cinderella tea set. After they left she brought me a cup and saucer and said "tea party with Mommy."
Catherine's oncologist told us that she can wait until a month or two after her chemo treatment ends. We were so relieved that the oncologist feels like she is doing well enough that we can wait. We wanted her to be off treatment because the chemo can make her so sick.
The Wish Coordinators told us that they have two or three "Rush Wishes" per month - which saddened us. They even told us of a little girl who was so sick she could not leave the hospital. One of the Disney princesses, I think it was Sleeping Beauty, flew up from Disney World to meet with the little girl in the hospital. Such a wonderful organization, but it is still so maddening to me that this organization even has to exist - why do children have to get so sick?
