Starting School

After a lot of investigation, we found a preschool specifically designed for medically fragile children. Catherine started about a week ago. Per my request, Robby photographed the first day. Catherine walked into the classroom, hugged her teacher, and started playing with the toys. She was placed in the four year old classroom because of her cognitive abilities, so she is a lot smaller than all of the other children.

They feed Catherine breakfast, lunch and a snack every day. Catherine eats some of the food, but not much. We are hoping that peer pressure will have a positive impact on her and she will start eating. She has already started talking more frequently and more loudly, after just a week of school. Because the class is primarily boys, she has to be more assertive to be heard. She came home one day last week and told me "High Five" and held her hand up for me to high five her. We never taught her this, so I guess one of the children did.
