Hospital Pictures - Monday

The doctor wanted Catherine to begin to move around and walk on Monday, so we took her to the playroom. She picked out the toy stroller and wanted to take the bear on a stroll around the hospital floor. We had to follow her with her IV pole, which contained her kidney drain bag. This is kind of a delicate maneuver and makes me glad that Catherine is still a fairly slow walker.
In the hospital's toy room, Catherine wanted to play with the kitchen.
Catherine got to ride in the wagon to go downstairs to get an X-ray of her abdomen done. On Monday morning her abdomen was very distended, so the doctors were concerned. It turned out that Catherine was very constipated. She brought one of her favorite books with her - an animal book she can carry (the handle is built in) which her Grandpa gave her.
Most of Monday Catherine was NPO (which means "nothing per oral" - she could not eat or drink). The doctors did let her "sponge drink." They gave her what looked like a lollipop stick with a sponge on the end of it. She could dip the sponge into a cup of water and then suck the water out of the sponge. It took quite a while to convince Catherine to try this activity, but once she figured it out she loved it.
