I have no idea if all new readers do this, but Catherine has a habit of just looking at the first letter of a word and then guess the word. So, when she reads to me, "who," "what," and "when" will all be "with" for her. So, to give her some practice at distinguishing similar words, I made up some Do A Dot practice sheets with similar words. She loved this exercise:
She actually did tons of these worksheets, but I only photographed one. We did w words, a words, t words, etc.
