Bravery

In a lot of ways Catherine is the toughest person I know. She has been through hell and can refocus very quickly. Very little gets her down and she is very flexible and adaptable.

But, she does have a cautious, hesitant streak. Perhaps because she has bad balance and has fallen many times, she tends to take things very slowly and is generally very careful. So careful in fact that she has never gone down a slide by herself. She normally climbs the ladder, sits down and then asks me or Robby to hold her hand as she slides down.

Imagine how surprised we were when she took this slide by herself, not only with no one holding her hand, but with us about 30 feet away:



I am wondering if being with children in kindergarten who slide without holding a parent's hand has led to this bravery. Perhaps.
