The First Family Sliver

Partly because Catherine is our first child and partly because she has so many "issues," I feel that she has broken us into just about everything a parent can encounter. However, last weekend I was proven wrong.

We spent the weekend at my father's house in the mountains. The kids love running all over his house. Sabrina kept limping, walking flatly on one foot and just the toes of the other foot. She told me she had a boo-boo on her foot and asked me to kiss it, so I did. Yet, she still limped.

I asked her what was wrong and she said she still had the boo-boo. When we asked her to specifically show me where the boo-boo was, she pointed to the bottom of her foot. We found a sliver! This was a first for us. I was so excited! We were going to have to remove a sliver from one of our kids.

Being a bit nutty, I made Robby photograph the sliver:

It was very easy to remove (there was no digging into her skin at all), so Sabrina was a trooper and sat totally still for it:

Because she is 2, Sabrina still finds everything fascinating, including a pair of tweezers:

Lastly, here is the view from my Dad's deck:
